After bursting onto the scene earlier this seasons as a Grade-A slimeball, Ricky Schroeder is actually turning likeable.
Some questions:
1. Why does Lisa Miller allow the VP to threaten her like that? Couldn’t she threaten to reveal their relationship, thus implicating him as a traitor as well? Seems like that would be the logical step for someone in her predicament.
2. Anybody else get the feeling that we haven’t seen the last of Jack’s dad yet?
3. Where’s Chloe?

I did one of these “Recommend a book” things a couple of months ago, but thought I might try it again. After all, I imagine some folks have finished books over the past couple of months that they weren’t reading at the time.
So, what have you been reading lately, and what do you recommend?

Speaking of Curt Schilling, last night Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Gary Thorne said on the air that Schilling painted the sock red as a PR stunt.
UPDATE: Thorne has now backed off his original statements and said the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard says his success comes from the Lord.
Howard said one of his favorite Bible verses is James 2:26: “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”
It’s easy to see that Howard takes that verse seriously and practices it in his life. He was the key note speaker at the Magic’s Faith and Family Night. He has hosted a prayer breakfast for 150 Central Florida high school students. He hosts an annual father/son basketball clinic in Atlanta.
In 2005, Howard received the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment award for Central Florida. He has a mentorship program and basketball camp.
Howard and the Magic are facing elimination tonight in their series against Detroit.

I feel like I’m in a blog slump these days. Nothing seems to interest me, writing has become a chore, and I’m keeping busy with other things — so the old blog is suffering.
Maybe I’ll bust out of the funk in a few days — kinda like Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds did on Sunday against the Cubbies. I need to find some kind of slump-buster.

I thought tonight’s episode was pretty good. I hate to see Bill Buchanan take the fall, and I’m hoping that issue will be resolved before season’s end — but I’m not counting on it.
Now some obvious questions: What’s wrong with Audrey? Who’s the spy? What happens between Bill and Karen?

Here in Jackson, the Mary Winkler trial has been big news lately.
Winkler, who shot and killed her husband Matthew Winkler, a local pastor, was convicted of voluntary manslaughter yesterday. She could conceivably get off without serving any more jail time.
She shot him in the back with a shotgun while he was in bed, but yet somehow that’s not first-degree murder.
What a big, fat, ridiculous joke.

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has agreed to do an email interview with me. I’ll be sending him some questions, and he’ll send me his responses.
So, here’s your chance to ask Huckabee a question, as I’ll also be including questions from readers. If there’s something you’d like to ask him, leave your question in a comment. I can’t promise that I’ll include your question in the list of questions I send to him, but I’ll do my best.
