About me
June 25th, 2005
This blog is a hodgepodge of things that interest Tim Ellsworth — sports, news, humor, Christianity, television, parenting and anything else he feels like posting.
Tim Ellsworth writes a regular faith-and-values-based sports column for Baptist Press Sports, serves as editor of BP Sports and is a regular contributor to Baptist Press. Over the past few years he has interviewed such sports figures as John Smoltz, Shaun Alexander, Lance Berkman, Lee Janzen, Deidre Pujols, Jennie Finch, Danny Wuerffel, Derek Parra, Bryan Clay, Morgan Ensberg, Andy Pettitte, Woody Williams, Mike Maroth, Chris Reitsma, Barry Trotz, Matt Hemingway, Drayton McLane and many others.
He ranks among his passions the St. Louis Cardinals, “Seinfeld” and “The Office,” ancient and American history, dogs, his wife and kids, good books and good theology — not necessarily in that order. He would sooner cheer for al-Qaida than root for the Chicago Cubs.
He works in news and media relations for a Christian university. He previously worked as associate editor of the Illinois Baptist, director of news and information at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, reporter for the Southern Illinoisan and as a high school social studies teacher.
He has a tendency to be a smart aleck, and asks for your patience as his sanctification is not yet complete.
And as a simple disclaimer, the views he expresses here do not necessarily reflect those of anyone other than himself.
