24: Hour 20

A USA Today article raises some excellent questions that “24″ has yet to answer.
Among them:
- Is Heller dead?
- Is Aaron with Behrooz?
- Why would Jack send Henderson back to CTU?
And my favorite:
- Why does anyone oppose Jack?
I was talking to a friend of mine this weekend. He’s started watching “24,” which doesn’t entirely please his wife. “How does a show like that bring glory to God?” she asked him.
And so, I throw this out as a topic for discussion. How do we as Christians glorify God by watching a show like “24″? This discussion doesn’t just have to be limited specifically to “24.” What about the movies we watch? What about R-rated movies? What’s acceptable and what’s not?
Let’s see where this takes us. I certainly have my opinion on the matter, and if you read this blog much you probably know what it is. But I’m going to leave it at that for now and see what you have to say.
Thoughts on last night’s episode? Who is this group of guys that’s behind this entire plot?
Next week we get to see Jack Bauer hijack an airplane. Sweet.
I’d like to be able to say something about tonight’s episode of 24, but unfortunately I’m an idiot and taped the wrong channel. I usually have some friends who tape it, but for various reasons nobody else I know here in Jackson has it on tape.
So, I’m turning off the comments for this post, because I don’t want anybody to spoil it for me. If you live in Jackson and have tonight’s episode on tape, I’d love to borrow it. Please e-mail me and let me know.
UPDATE: My friend Keith Bates is DA BOMB!!! He’s got it on tape, and I’m getting it tonight.
Thoughts on this week’s episode of 24? I thought it was riveting, as usual. I’m guessing that Evelyn and her daughter are probably dead. And I’m wondering what twists the plot will take from here on. Next week Secretary Heller confronts President Logan, and it seems like it could be near the end. But we know there are still seven hours left, so something big has to happen.
What a great series.
So President Logan is the dirty dog behind this whole scheme. Interesting.
Next week it appears to be Jack Bauer against the entire U.S. government. Sounds to me like the government is in a whole mess of trouble.
So, who’s the mole in the White House? And is Jack Bauer really dead?
Of course not. You can’t kill Jack Bauer. You can only hope to contain him.
Tonight’s episode got the series back on track. The German intelligence angle was a nice addition, and may be setting the stage for next season’s plot. I hated to see for sure that Tony was dead, as he was my second favorite character on the show.
And now, the big question: Is Audrey Raines involved or not?
I wasn’t terribly surprised that Rudy bit the dust tonight. And it was kind of fitting, since it was his fault that the terrorists got access to CTU.
Now, how about Tony? Is he dead?
I’m not watching tonight’s episode until later this evening, but I’ll go ahead and put up a place for you to talk about it if you’re seeing it before me.
The Chuck Norris facts have been posted on here previously. Without further ado, here are the top 40 Jack Bauer facts.
Some of my favorites:
- When life gave Jack Bauer lemons, he used them to kill terrorists. Jack Bauer hates lemonade.
- Jack Bauer was never addicted to heroin. Heroin was addicted to Jack Bauer.
- If everyone on “24″ followed Jack Bauer’s instructions, it would be called “12.”
- If you’re holding a gun to Jack Bauer’s head, don’t count to three before you shoot. Count to 10. That way, you get to live 7 seconds longer.
- Jack Bauer got Helen Keller to talk.
I thought tonight’s episode was one of the most intense of the season so far. Who was Henderson talking to on the phone when he said CTU didn’t have enough info to pin anything on them?
Don’t forget that next week’s show starts an hour earlier and lasts two hours.
Talk about tonight’s episode of “24″ here.
Interesting ethical dilemma tonight. Allow one canister to be released, killing 900 innocent people, but with the potential to lead CTU to the location of the 19 other canisters, or blow Jack’s cover and take your chances finding the other 19? What would you have done?
