March 6th, 2008An interview with Ben Zobrist
March 3rd, 2008
Tim Challies has an excellent interview with Ben Zobrist of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
I’ve interviewed a lot of Christian athletes, and must say that I’m quite impressed by the depth of what I see in Zobrist from this interview. Thanks to Tim for posting it.

So what’s going on with baseball and steroids?
February 13th, 2008I have absolutely no idea what’s happening with baseball and steroids these days. What’s going on with Clemens, Pettitte, etc.? Can someone enlighten me?
I do know that the Cardinals pitchers and catchers report tomorrow. Music to my ears.

February 4th, 2008
Evidently too many Fed Ex employees over the past few years have thought they deserved a holiday on the Monday after the Super Bowl.

What a game
February 3rd, 2008A super game for the Super Bowl. Eli Manning’s 33-yard pass to David Tyree late in the game was one of the best plays I’ve ever seen.
Looks like Plaxico Burress wasn’t so crazy after all for his prediction of a 23-17 Giants win. Said Brady in response to Burress: “We’re only going to score 17 points? OK. Is Plax playing defense? I wish he had said 45-42 and gave us a little credit for scoring more points.”
Maybe Burress was in a generous mood, Tom.
Congrats to the Giants for a great win.

ESPN anchor suspended for remarks
January 28th, 2008
ESPN anchor Dana Jacobson returned to the air today after a weeklong suspension she earned for her profanity-laced tirade at a roast for ESPN’s Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic.
Read my story about the matter at Baptist Press Sports.
I’m guessing Jacobson’s not the kind of woman King Lemuel had in mind when he wrote Proverbs 31.
