Adams wrote a good article and touches briefly on the technical aspects of why he came back to faith. I liked how he treated the dissonance theory and I got a chuckle out of what the elderly lady said to him.

    Cineaste,

I would be curious to know your thoughts on Adam’s article. I know it is not exhaustive, but I would just be curious as to what you thought about his experience.

Isn’t this the same guy who started a rant with, “Naturally, by the time I zipped up my trousers I began to contemplate your rationale for keeping abortion legal in America?” My honest opinion is that this is a another piece of propaganda, and not a very good one at that, for Christians to consume. Take the elderly lady’s line for example, “It [atheism] just sounds like a bunch of people trying to get out of serving God.” First, which God? She is presupposing Allah, Jesus, Zeus, whatever her religion is. Second, if atheists really don’t believe in Gods in the first place, then how are they trying to “get out” of anything? She may as well have said, “Atheism just sounds like a bunch of people trying to get out of serving the Flying Spaghetti Monster.” It’s clear to me this guy does not understand atheism at all and since he does not even know what an atheist is, I don’t think he is even qualified to write about it. The poor man sounds confused.
