Muslim student teacher refused position at Christian college

March 24th, 2009

A Muslim woman in Australia is upset that Heathdale Christian College denied her a position based on her religion. And so she’s suing.

Good for Heathdale for standing on its principles and not capitulating to the spirit of the age.

Though this is in Australia, I fear it won’t be long until Christian universities in the United States will not have the freedom to refrain from hiring people based on their religion.

wow, that’s a wild story. it’s scary to think our goverment could legislate christian distinctives right out of christian universities. i suppose most so-called christian universities aren’t very christian anyway.

Uh, Mike, there’s still plenty of conservative christian schools. You may just be looking in the wrong places. That’s not to say that we don’t have schools that have already capitulated to the spirit of the age…ie Baylor, Mercer, University of Richmond the list goes on and on. They could have thier freedom taken away and wouldn’t even know it.
