Pope: Hell is a real place where sinners burn in everlasting fire
March 29th, 2007I linked to this yesterday in my “In the News” box, but thought it was worth highlighting.
Hell is a place where sinners really do burn in an everlasting fire, and not just a religious symbol designed to galvanise the faithful, the Pope has said.
Addressing a parish gathering in a northern suburb of Rome, Benedict XVI said that in the modern world many people, including some believers, had forgotten that if they failed to “admit blame and promise to sin no more,” they risked “eternal damnation — the Inferno.”
Hell “really exists and is eternal, even if nobody talks about it much any more,” he said.
I thought since Vatican II, the Catholic church said with regard to heaven, everybody’s goin’ Muslims, Jews, etc, etc. That certainly seemed to be the message of the late Pope on many occasions. Who exactly is going to this Hell he’s talking about according to Catholic theology?
“with regard to heaven, everybody’s goin’ Muslims, Jews, etc, etc. ”
Now Jimmy Carter is saying that.
What wasn’t reported was that the Pope then started dancing and singing these words…
“To mass fires, yes! One hundred stories high
People gettin’ loose y’all gettin’ down on the roof - Do you hear?
(the folks are flaming) Folks were screamin’ - out of control
It was so entertainin’ - when the boogie started to explode
I heard somebody say
Burn baby burn! - Disco inferno!
Burn baby burn! - Burn that mama down
Burn baby burn! - Disco inferno!
Burn baby burn! - Burn that mama down
Burnin’!”
Here’s a video of the Pope’s backup vocal band singing…

Larry F as a pretty well informed Catholic I have no idea what you are talking about
A quote from The Daughters of St. Paul website. One of a plethora that could be called up on this subject:
“John Paul II has typically called the Muslims “brothers.” Only a few months after his election, in an appeal for peace in Lebanon, the Pope invoked Mary as Queen of Peace: “We know that the Mother of God is greatly venerated also by our Muslim brothers.”
Browsing the official website of the Archdiocese of Chicago ( http://www.goingforth.org/ )you will find this under “Office For Evangelization”, sub directory: “Faith Sharing Materials” and then under: “Archived Faith Sharing Materials” select “Lent 2006″. On page 8 you will find this statement:
Share: Visit a non-Catholic Christian church, a synagogue or a mosque this week.
Participate in praising and worshiping God with those present.

Is that not a sin? Does not that fly in the face of the first commandment? I give you the link to the entire guide as developed by The Office for Evangelization and The Advisory Committee on Evangelization.
I think that this and Vatican II stand in stark contrast of scripture and Christ Himself.
Also, I don’t believe that anyone will find any mention of participating in worship with those of another faith under another god in scripture, or at the other end of the spectrum, in the documents of the Second Vatican Council.

Oh how I’m ashamed Jimmy Carter is the only President from Georgia.
” Burn baby burn…”
I still can’t get the image of the Pope in one of those disco outfits out of my mind.
