Daniel’s Halloween costume
September 28th, 2006
Daniel decided he wanted to be a football player for Halloween, and so we found a costume for him on eBay. He was thrilled when it came in the mail today.
No, it’s not the Rams, but I couldn’t find a Rams costume. At least it’s not the Cowboys. And at least he’s being patriotic.
Too cute, Tim. Of course it raises the question yet again of participation in “Halloween” activities by Christians. And yet that picture is so cute……you’d probably have a hard time finding a Rams outfit anyway.
The Patriots. Now that’s scary.
I knew you were liberal.
Oh, the Patriots? Come on now Tim. You should have tried to get a nice Falcons costume.
Oh, and Bob, before Halloween was twisted into the whole Devil’s Day thing, the original purpose wasn’t all that bad. You should read about it.
Satan’s favorite team is New England…coincidence? I don’t think so.
I think Satan is a fan of all major sports teams in that area. No wonder they call the Yankees “the Evil Empire.” But I think the Mets are his favorite team by far. I mean, after this season, they must have sold their souls or something.
Thanks for the tip Scott, but it wasn’t about how it was before it got “twisted,” but about what it represents now. Having said that, it is a decision best left to individual parents.
Besides, Patriot shirt or not, isn’t Daniel cute in it?
Adorable.
I didn’t know that Baptists celebrated Halloween.
ANYway, I won’t go into a long rant about Christians and Halloween. I DO wish we’d bring back All Saints day though. I wonder how many other religious holidays will continue to be secularized. We lost Haloween and St. Patrick’s day a long time ago. We are very close to losing Christmas as well.
Oh well. That’s another blog post I’ll have to start working on.
I wonder how many people who don’t celebrate or let their children celebrate halloween, actually partcipated when they were younger? Probably quite a few.
I also wonder why now as adults, we consider it more wrong now than it was then? Has it become more evil?
Or just more commercialized?
I fear the latter. And if that’s the case, one would wonder about other holidays. Christmas?
Blasphemy you say.
Very true, Bob. You’ll just have to excuse me - I like trying to prove points when not necessary sometimes.
