A blog slump
April 24th, 2007I feel like I’m in a blog slump these days. Nothing seems to interest me, writing has become a chore, and I’m keeping busy with other things — so the old blog is suffering.
Maybe I’ll bust out of the funk in a few days — kinda like Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds did on Sunday against the Cubbies. I need to find some kind of slump-buster.
Didn’t we talk about writing slumps a couple of weeks ago in your office? When I’m in a slump/funk I try to find some writing that stretches my normal reading habits. A new author or different genre sometimes will “unclog” my thought process and get things moving again.
And when you do come out of it, I’m sure we’ll all still be here.
When you find a slump-buster, let me know. I have felt the same way the last couple of weeks. Maybe it’s spring fever.
Just don’t ask Mark Grace about slump-busters…
Ewwww.
I didn’t need to be reminded of that, Laz.
Yuck.
All slumps eventually come to an end. Just like streaks. Try not to think about it too much.
Here’s a good baseball topic.
After Bonds breaks the HR record this year (yawn, yawn!), who will be the next major leaguer you will root for to break Bond’s record?
Richard, the answer to your question is absolutely ANYONE provided that there are no steroid suspicions surrounding them. I’ve never been a big fan of Rodriguez (boycotting the use of “A-Rod” cuz I’m sick of it) but I think he’s clean and would love to see him take the record from Bonds.
Richard, funny you should mention this because just yesterday I was thinking that the closer that steroid-boy gets to Aaron’s record the bigger A-Rod fan I will become.
Tim, I’m in a much bigger slump than you. Of course, I also have two more kids than you.
Let’s blog about Marty’s upcoming wedding!
What are the dates in Semptember again? I hope late in the month, then I can combine a trip to your wedding with UU’s homecoming.
That’s just it Richard - even though he most likely will pass Aaron as recognized by Major League Baseball, he won’t be the true home run King. I think that a large majority of fans will always hold Aaron as the one true leader in homers until a worthy player is able to pass him.
Here’s a topic of discussion: Does anyone know how Tim cheats at fantasy baseball?
What do you mean, cheat?
420 came up in open blog friday, sometimes recording artists use it to write songs like Yellow LeadBetter.
I don’t think it would be a wise choice cause it would be cheating.
Painters also use it to produce works of art… along with acid and such… kind of like some of the “art” I see on a local university campus.

Well you must be doing something tricky - I can’t figure out how you are always winning.
Snap out of it man!
What will I do with my timellsworth.com addiction? You are responsible! : )
Just when you think there’s nothing exciting to write about Mark Prior is done for the season.
I’m tired of talking about your slump. Let’s talk about Tom or Don.
Klay, the date for the wedding is the 8th of September. Sorry it’s not later in the month. However, if you would like to stay around for a couple weeks and then attend the homecoming I’m sure Tim would be happy to put you and your entire family up in his house for that time.
Congratulations Marty.
The worst part of marriage is the engagement. You have all the responsibilities of marriage and none of the benefits!
AMEN, JOEL!!!
They may have broken out last Sunday, but they were slumping again this past Friday and Saturday.
So sad to hear about the Cards pitcher.
