  2. Tim says:

    Hey Jim Toms,

Are you the Jim Toms who won first prize in Challies’ book giveaway?

  3. j razz says:

  4. Tim,
I know you’ve discussed the Mary Winkler thign before but has it come up about her desire now to reclaim custody of her children?
This baffles me. If your defense was that although you did in fact shoot your husband at close range with a shotgun, you did not realize you were doing- then how can you be entrusted with teh care of children?! If you were too unstable to be guilty you are too unstable to be a fit parent.

I’m sure this won’t be the last time I say my peace on this, but after having read several transcripts (but not all) I honestly just don’t see how 12 reasonable people could have returned the verdict they came back with. However, a healthy portion of this rests on the DA’s shoulders.

    RIP 2007 Cardinals

  7. Len says:

Yanks @ Fenway this weekend! Party at my house tonight. Go Sox!

  8. Excuse me, Zoner…

That should be “RIP Defending World Series Champion Cardinals”

    Let’s get it straight.

  9. Peter R. says:

    Where is your house?

  10. Peter R. says:

Does anyone else think that the NLF docking the Patriots a first-round pick is utterly and completely ridiculous?

  11. Tim says:

Ridiculous as in too harsh, or ridiculous as in too lenient?

  12. Too lenient, I say. And fining the coach $500,000 while the team gets a fine of $250,000? C’mon. They cheated. They should pay.

  13. Greetings from Washington DC! I’m here at the IX Marks Weekender event at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.

Having a great time, but missing unbroken, unfettered internet access. As I type I’m in a crowded little coffee shop down Pennsylvania Ave.

Thanks again for the hospitality Tim. I had a great time in Jackson last weekend!

And jrazz, did my man Joel contact you?

    Talk to you later.

  14. Peter R. says:

Too harsh. I have yet to hear a convincing explanation as to how the Pats got any meaningful advantage from what they were doing.

  15. j razz says:

    Klay,

I know not of which you speak… who is this Joel?

    j razz

  16. Leland says:

It really doesn’t matter if they gained an advantage or not, the league forbids electronic recording of signals. I think a suspension should have been involved.

  17. Yepiz says:

I’m off to see the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium tonight against Arizona. Brad Penny pitching, so i like our chances tonight.

    Have an excellent weekend!

  18. Jim Toms says:

Indeed, I am, Mr. E. Autographs can be had for a minimal fee. Just let me know.

  19. Tim says:

    Congratulations, Mr. Toms.

  20. jrazz - joel is our technology chairman. He had some questions about Sony Vegas.

  21. Cineaste says:

I just got back from seeing 3:10 to Yuma. Wonderful film!! They don’t make many Westerns anymore and 3:10 to Yuma is one of the best. I highly recommend it.

    - Cineaste

  22. Jim Toms says:

Cineaste, no doubt you’ve seen the original? I need to see it again. I was slightly disappointed the first time, 10 or so years ago.

  23. Tim says:

    Better than Tombstone?

  24. The Zoner says:

Lonely Are The Brave with Kirk Douglas. Good western fare.

  25. Cineaste says:

Baseball fans, how often have you seen this…?

Keep Your Eyes on the Bat

  26. Jim Toms says:

Probably wouldn’t happen again for 50 years.
