Well, I hate to be a better prophet than Pat Robertson, but I knew long ago that Huckabee would be a top contender. Whether he can hold on or not, I have not received any revelation. Ask Pat.
1. I like Mike.
2. Chuck Norris likes Mike.
3. Even if you don’t like me, you had better like (see #2).
4. The headline in the Southern Illinoisan reads “Iowa Chooses Obama”. Then in little letters underneath it, if you squint a little, you read “Illinois senator, Mike Huckabee win caucuses”….Illinois is so screwed up politically.
Huckabee winning a state with a lot of evangelicals is not as big a story as Obama winning a state that is 95% white.
I think the real winner last night was John McCain.
I like Huckabees chances now. I think that win for him was huge.
on a much more important topic, I think Jim Rice will finally get in the Baseball Hall of Fame, this year.
I’m not surprised that Huck won, what did surprise me was Billary coming in third on the Dem’s side.
That was sweet.

Believe it or not, I still think Fred Thompson has a chance as the conciliatory candidate people will pick when they sour on Huckabee (which I think they will), can’t get on board with Romney because of his chameleon tendencies, and can’t embrace a moderate like Giuliani and McCain. Just one armchair prognostication.
I think the candidate with the best chance to beat Obama is McCain, like itor not.
I want to wish everyone a late “Happy Perihelion Day”. At midnight in London, starting Jan 3 (actually 6 pm Jan 2 here in West TN), the Earth reached its closest approach to the sun in its annual journey.
Plus the barometric pressure reached a 52-week high here yesterday. Over 15 lbs/square inch. Average is 14.7.
The above two facts are not related.

Go, Huck, Go!
Why not Duncan Hunter? If you want a strong, consistent conservative with good character and leadership ability, I say check him out. Its not too late to make him viable with a Hunterboom.
I liked what I read in a recent TIME letters section. A 50 year old white woman said she would not be voting for Obama. Not because he’s black, but because he’s too green (i.e., inexperienced) to be President. I tend to agree.

If someone a few years ago would have told me that God could get the glory from the biggest porn meeting in the world, I’d have not believed it. But that was then, this is now.
Here’s something to be in fervent prayer about: ex porn star Shelley Lubben will be at next weeks AVN convention in Vegas (it’s the world’s largest gathering of porn stars along with a quarter of a million porn fans). Shelley reached out to the porn stars at Christmas and many of them asked her if she could be at the AVN convention so they could meet with her and chat. Spread the word about this. We need prayer to overcome the porn epidemic in our country (and also the world).
