Just for Scott Slayton: New shirts
December 30th, 2006Scott Slayton asked me to repost my rant about new shirts from last year, so here it is:
Begin rant:
Can someone explain to me why clothing companies see the need to put so many blasted straight pins in new shirts? I just pulled 10 pins out of a new shirt — 10. What’s the point? Does a shirt really need to be pinned up that much in order to be acceptable? Heck, they could knock 50 cents off the price of the shirt if it didn’t come with so many stinking pins. Why, why, why???
Rant complete. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
do what my hubby does and just wear t-shirts - problem solved!!!!
;)
Here’s a question, why do you have to pay so much money to be a walking billboard for the store? Do I really care if my shirt says Gap?
I opened a new shirt today from Lands End. It was packaged attractively and WITHOUT pins, utilizing just a few plastic pieces to hold it all together. Nice.
Mark, this is something I’ve always gotten tickled about. People pay a lot of money to be a walking advertisement for a company. I’ve always said that Nike or Gap or Coca-Cola should be paying ME to wear their name all over the place. Somewhere in the past there is a marketing genius out there. I wonder who the first person to come up with this idea was.
Also, have you ever thought about those “Property Of” shirts? I’d like to make a t-shirt that says “Property of ME” and then below “because I spent my hard-earned dollar to buy it!”
