On the radio

January 15th, 2008

This afternoon I’ll be on Supertalk 97.7 to talk about my most recent column. If you’re interested, I believe you can listen to the station through its website. I’ll be on sometime around 2:15-2:30 Central time.

Your post is good. It has generated some discussion in the comment section too. Who is that guy that faults you for your logic?

Beats me, j razz. Someone who has spent nearly 3,000 posts showcasing his idiocy.

Wow, supertalk 97.7 has a horrible website.

  5. j razz says:

Maybe that is something I should talk to them about :)

    Tim,

Thanks for giving us the heads up on this. I appriciated listening to you talk, rather than just reading your words. It was fun listening in (to you, though not so much to the callers).

I have to say, though, that the banjo music theme of the show made me want to kill myself.

  7. Tim says:

Thanks, Nick. As for the music, you’ll get no argument from me about that.

Oh, and also, Tim, I really appriciated your gracious but well reasoned arguement for only parents administering corporal punishment on their children. I was shocked how many callers supported putting it back in schools. That idea is horrifying to me (especially the one caller who said something very close to “…that wouldn’t happen if teachers were going back there and hitting students upside the head.”) It was also a little disappointing that the conversationion bacame all about that (i.e. putting spanking in public schools), which has very little to do with what your article was about, and is so impractical to talk about .

I don’t have kids yet, but have been thinking a lot in the last 6 months about the whole “to spank or not to spank” debate. Your thoughts on spanking helped frame the issue well.

    Thanks!
