Who’s your American Idol pick?
February 22nd, 2006Has anyone emerged as your favorite on American Idol? From the women, I thought Katharine, Lisa, Mandisa and Paris were the best this week. From the men, I liked Chris and Taylor. I’m desperately hoping that Brenna gets the boot this week, because she’s incredibly annoying.
I came to your blog for stimulating conversation about “sports, culture, religion, politics, parenting — all from a Christian worldview.” And you are talking about American Idol? Interesting. I thought I went to EOnline by mistake.
Is American Idol sports because of the competition? Maybe Brett could add it to his open blog Friday list.
Is AI culture? Yes, but not cultured.
Is AI religion? People do worship idols.
Is AI politics? The winner is selected by a vote.
Does AI have anything to do with parenting. Yes. Definitely. I can sit my nine-year old in front of the TV and show her what not to be when she grows up.
good night
So who is your pick?
Wow.
Mark S. has problems with American Idol.
I suspended myself from commenting for a week, for less vitriol than that.
Mandisa & Katharine are my favorites.
I am not concerned about the male singers.
I don’t watch it.
Me either.
Good grief, Mark. Lighten up. And if you’re not interested in reading what I post, then don’t comment and waste everyone’s time.
Ouch. Sorry. Sometimes I am more abrasive than I realize.
Welcome Mark. Many of us, myself included, can take things here too seriously, for the very reason you mentioned- the statement at the top of Tim’s page. How-eva, (ode to ESPN’S Steven A. Smith) we are encouraged to speak the truth, and have some fun along the way.
Again, Welcome Mark. You are at home here.
Mark,
No problem. It did come off as abrasive, but apology accepted. Like Bob said, I’m happy to have you reading and posting.
I’m for the fat Arab looking guy.
To be honest, last year I was an American Idol freak. But this year, I’ve only watched a few shows. I just can’t seem to find the time on the nights it’s on. Oh well… maybe next year.
Scott,
I’ve got three words for you, my man….
D V R
Foeller, OUT!
Alrighty then; buy me one! (You’re talking to a high school student without a job- I’m dirt poor.) I’ve only got around $150 total - I’m not going to blow that on a DVR, lol. I think I’ll blow it all at Waffle House, me and my friends’ hangout - man I love that place.
MMMM……..waffle house……………..
I have never watched for more than a few seconds- ever ever ever. I don’t know which I would rather not do, watch American Idol or watch NASCAR.
Jere,
If I were forced to choose, I would take NASCAR.
It’s not that bad………………..really.
Bob, me and a friend had lunch today, and the place we dined had the racing channel on. Some NASCAR race was on, we both watched it for about 10 seconds and commented on how we cannot understand why people watch. My friend reminded me about what I said about taping the first 10 minutes and then replaying that segment over and over because it is all the same. He agreed. I just don’t understand it. To each his own,; I,for one, enjoy the curling.
Attention NASCAR fans — feel free to make fun of Jeremy for having every MacGuyver episode on tape and memorized.
Actually Tim, I have all but four on VHS, and am working on getting all the seasons on DVD. I am pretty effecient with the MacGyver dialogue, thank you very much.
Who is the more dangerous weapon, MacGyver with anything, or Tony Stewart with a race car?
I don’t know who Tony Stewart is. But I wouldn’t classify MacGyver as a dangerous weapon. I would classify Jack Bauer as a dangerous weapon (and Pat Robertson judging by one of Tim’s other posts), but MacGyver would best be classified as resourceful.
Jack who?
