24: Hour 10

February 19th, 2007

So the weasel Charles Logan shows up again. Not the guy I was wanting to have to watch some more.

Lennox’s plan to betray his aide didn’t surprise me. Now, the question is, who’s ultimately behind this assassination attempt?

  1. I, for one, am glad to see Logan back. I thought the performances by Gregory Itzin (Logan) and Jean Smart (Martha Logan) from last year were some of the best I have seen on television. I thought tonight’s episode was great. The last two weeks have really picked up the pace.

  2. So am I, Lyle! Thrilled, in fact. I hope this means Martha and Aaron Pierce aren’t far behind.

Thought this episode was a vast improvement over pretty much all of them since the four hour premiere. There are more thoughts on the episode on my blog, but in short, I’m intrigued again and a big part of that is thanks to the return of Logan.

  3. My picks:

    1. Martha and Aaron got married in the interim.

    2. Logan was even deeper in cahoots with the Bauers than Season 5 lets on. He probably already knew the last little detail and has probably been consulted from time to time on how to get to Wayne Palmer.

    3. There is a new player about to be revealed. Perhaps Nina Myers’ real employer? The anonymous person/organization/country that she really worked for? Maybe the Nina Myers thread is about to come to a close.

    4. In a fanciful moment, Ryan Chappelle isn’t really dead and is out for revenge.

  4. Interesting ending.

Silently, the dad leaves the building, down the stairs and disappears without making a sound, and yet, Jack didn’t hear him. Then Jack went outside and saw a cell phone on the ledge with number to call Suddam Hussein’s look-a-like Charles Da’man Logan. Very Interesting, I bet the Dad bought into the company Urban Aeronautics X-Hawk flying car to escape. Here is the webpage for the company.

This has to be the explanation for the dad’s disappearance at the end of the episode.
It’s awesome to think that Charles gets to use Jack twice to do his evil deeds. What a set-up! That the true villains of the show have outsmarted Jack and CTU.

My prediction: Daddy Bauer and Charles Da’Man Logan will escape at 6am and be Jack’s nemesis in season 7.

I was glad that Tom was about to try to save Palmer’s life. I was frustrated at the fact that almost no resolution took place on Monday night, but that’s okay, it brings me back next Monday.
    Great episode!

I thought the ending last night was stupid! Why and how did Daddy leave, and why did he (I assume he did) leave the cell phone for Jack to call? Yeah, I know that Logan was connected to Graeme last season, but why would Logan hold the cards now? I was halfway expecting Marilyn to blow Philip away, but she’s too emotionally handcuffed.

And I’m so glad this is fiction because it allows me to unrepentantly say this. I absolutely hate Logan. I was so glad to be rid of him last season. I feel like I need to take 3 showers using Brillo pads after the show just to get rid of the slime. His return doesn’t make it interesting for me, rather I dread sitting through his scenes. I guess the writers did their job correctly to make me feel this way, but I wish I didn’t have to put up with him to enjoy the rest of the show. I rather listen to Joel Osteen.

Something that has been bothering me ever since we learned about Romano, oops, Graeme, and his connection with Fayed. Did Graeme and Daddy know that Fayed wanted to get Jack back? Was that part of the plan or were they surprised? I know one or both made comments like “Someone must have paid a high price to get you released.” Sounds like they orchestrated getting Jack back. Did they really think that he wouldn’t escape?

  7. Bill Nettles says:

Oh, who’s behind the assasination attempt? The former first lady, President Palmer’s sister-in-law, of course!

  8. Bill,
With you last statement, are you refering to Sherry Palmer, the late and former President David Palmer’s ex-wife or Sandra Palmer, President Wayne and David Palmer’s sister?

I can see possibly Sherry Palmer more than Sandra. And having Sherry come back will make plot even twist more.

  9. Bill Nettles says:

Sheeee-eee-rry, Sherry, baby! Won’t you come out tonight.

  10. The story line makes sense. The last 7 hours of season 4 to now has President Logan masterminding the whole thing. I bet he even had President Keeler killed in Air Force One or knew who was behind Anderson who killed him with a missle.

Bill, by the way, Sherry dies at the end of season 3 by Julia shooting her with 2 bullets. So that rules out Sherry. So then it might be Stephen’s choice of Nina Myers.

  11. Did we actually see Sherry die? We only saw her shot. And a distraught Wayne Palmer telling the President that she was killed.

But I still think we’re about to see the real players behind Nina Myers. Unless, of course, they’re saving that for the series finale.
