24: Hour 14
March 20th, 2007So Nadia turns out to be the mole — or at least that’s what they’re leading us to believe. I’m not convinced.
I thought this week’s episode was pretty intense. Is the plotline with Jack looking for Audrey’s killers going to happen in this season or next?
Here’s my thought…Jack Baur is leaving the show after this season and Ricky Shroeder’s character is taking his place. I still don’t buy that Nadia is the mole…too obvious.

this week’s episode was pretty intense.
Wholehearted agreement. After spending 20 months in a Chinese torture camp, Jack is still able to maneuver a state of the art man less drone with a nuclear bomb attached to it. Brilliant.
I’m not convinced
It’s either Nadia or Milo.
Is the plotline with Jack looking for Audrey’s killers going to happen in this season or next?
I don’t know, but Jack’s emotional outbursts when he found out about her were pretty intense. Although, they cast doubt on her death when they mentioned that there was a snag in getting her ID’d.
At any rate, this was the best episode since the fourth hour of this season.
I know the movie’s not til next year, but how cool would it be for the “Jack in China” idea to happen in a movie format instead of an entire season?
I don’t buy the mole plot at all - smells like red herring to me.
Y’all,
The Chinese has Audrey in their custody, possibly in California. She will appear again after midnight or 1am. Jack thinks she is still alive by the arm photograph.
Doyle will probably end up like McGill (Samwise Gamgee) in season 5, dead and a hero, by the end of season 6.

Tim,
Can you please get my last comment out moderation? thank you.
Me and my wife have been watching Season 4 this last week. It is interesting that the Islamic terrorist groups that Marwan was in was tied Papa Bauer, Graeme Bauer and Chuck Logan and then was connected to the Chinese and then connected to Fayed and Gredenko groups. Then you have Reed, what group does he belong to? What group would benefit the most of deposing Wayne Palmer? Is Tony Almaeda really dead?
Paul –
I already had, and did it immediately after you posted your first comment. Patience, my friend.
I thought it was a great episode. Best one this season.
No way Nadia is the real mole. We’ve sung this song before. The real mole will be someone else, like Morris, or even Milo.
Ricky Schreoder is not going to take over for Jack. He’s too much of a jerk, not likeable. And Jack just signed a big fat contract for a few more years.
The Chinese murderers of Audrey will be hunted down and killed by Jack in the 24 movie, set to begin filming later this year. That line in Monday’s episode was just setting it up. And I can’t wait.
I say that Jack will find her killers and bring them to justice - all within the 24 hours of him returning to the US. He can do it.
No way is Nadia the mole. And I agree, this was the best episode of the season since the first few.
One other thing, the whole situation in the White House is entirely unbelievable and is part of the weakness of trying to make all of this happen within 24 hours.
If there had been an nuclear attack on an American city and an assassination attempt on the president, with him being in a coma, the whole White House staff would be in an uproar. They have taken out the reality of panic among human beings and the requirement of suspension of belief is almost too much to take. Also, Jack was just tortured a few hours ago, saw his brother die, had that whole thing with his dad, and . . . Wow. What a day.
Still, I can’t wait for next week’s episode. I’m hooked.
When I see Ricky Schroeder, I still think of Silver Spoons. Same with Doogie Houser on How I Met Your Mother. I hope he’s not around long.
I am waiting for Jack to find out that his nephew is really his son.
I really like 24, and I have been a fan since the first season, but the holes in the plot still annoy me. Two that jumped out at me last episode - 1. The president’s sister was shown all alone looking through the window at her brother. If the president was part of an assasination attempt, that hospital would have been a zoo, and there is no way that she would be left alone.
2. It was mentioned earlier as brilliant, but how does Jack manage to spend months in a Chinese prison, then come back to fly a drone with a nuclear bomb on it.
3. It was a few weeks ago, but did Jack learn Russian while he was in the Chinese torture camp? I know he’s Jack Bauer and everything, but come on.
I’m assuming Jack knew Russian before his time in China.
Here’s an interesting blogpost on Jack Bauer.
Leading the Sheep- 10 Leadership Principles in the Life of Jack Bauer

This morning as I was getting ready for work, I turned on the television, and it was on A&E, which was playing an episode of 24 from Season 4. It was the episode where Jack raids the terrorist compound, and rescues Secretery Heller from execution, right in the nick of time.
I thought to myself, “this is the single best episode in the history of 24.”
Am I right? Is there a better, more intense episode of the show than that?
Brett, you’ve gotta remember that the President isn’t in a real hospital - just the White House.
And Alan, I think I disagree about removing the panic aspect. Sure, the White House would be furious in a time like this, but they wouldn’t be all hyped-up about attacking a random country that there is no evidence about. And it also doesn’t help that the acting Commander-in-Chief is pretty much insane.
Great episode.
Nadia being the mole is too easy. It’s got to be someone who’s been there for awhile and someone with a lot of know-how. So that leaves:
-Nadia
-Milo
-Miles
-Chloe
-Bill
Tough call. I’m going to go on a limb and say it’s Miles. I think he was working with them from the beginning. It explains why he crumbled so quickly when the terrorists had him.
As far as Audrey goes, I say she IS alive and that will occupy Jack for next season. I believe he signed a 3-year extension last season, so that means at least 2 more years, right?
PS - Looks like the Usual Suspects are at it again, Tim. I can’t believe this is happening again:

Is anybody bothered by the lack of protocols surrounding the “nuclear strike” the VP ordered? When it comes to stuff like that, I trust Tom Clancy to get it right, and in Sum of All Fears the President has to get a 2nd on the order and Jack (the First) Ryan refuses and states that the President is basically irrational in his order. Nobody bucks Ryan.
Looks like VP wouldn’t get a 2nd from either Karen or any of the cabinet. Don’t think the CoStaff is a National Officer.
I really do think the chain of authorization on a nuclear strike is a little more complicated than “launch the missile.”
I just keep feeling like I’ve seen this scenario all before. Mole in CTU (season one), trigger happy VP (season two) and another nuke disaster averted (seasons two and now six.)
I not convinced that Nadia is the mole however. I’m a bit suspicious of Milo.
The whole Audrey dying thing is interesting and Jack’s statement about finding the people responsible for her death (if she truly is dead.) Could that be season seven perhaps? Instead of Jack saving the world it becomes all about Jack seeking revenge. Go back to first episode of this season and the look Jack gave his Chinese captor when he was released. Something tells me he and Jack will see each other again either this season or next.
