24: Hour 8

February 13th, 2006

Interesting ethical dilemma tonight. Allow one canister to be released, killing 900 innocent people, but with the potential to lead CTU to the location of the 19 other canisters, or blow Jack’s cover and take your chances finding the other 19? What would you have done?

Man, this show really tests my moral fortitude. Being a fellow trained killer, and knowing Jack’s track record, I would have given Jack the opportunity to diffuse the situation AND track the other canisters. Mr. Bauer nearly pulled it off- I think he really did. We will probably find out next week that they can track the vehicles that left that warehouse just minutes before. This season is really getting good. Oh yeah, did you watch the sneak peak for next week? That CIA guy that orchestrated the deal with the Russians is going to be helping CTU! He kinda reminds me of Jack Bristo from Alias. I can’t wait.

  2. Here is my plan. You let Jack subdue the terrorists. Next you allow him to torture them the way that he threatened to torture Walt Cummings.

While I am thinking about it, why are they not using their satellites as much as they did last year. You would think that they could have their satellites watching the building and seeing the truck leave. Oh well. It was an outstanding episode. I am looking forward to seeing McGil take a puff from his inhaler and demand that Jack be arrested.

  3. Jeff says:

I was with Audrey. Get that canister, then figure out the next step after talking with the terrorists Jack would have in custody.

  4. Brett says:

    Who is Jack Baur?

  5. Scott Gladin says:

Ok, let’s try and settle this. How do you correctly spell Jack’s last name? Is it Bower, Bauer, etc.?

  6. Scott Gladin says:

    Oh, and here’s my plan:
I would have done what I feel any true conservative would have done: not intentionally kill innocent lives. I would have blown Jack’s cover and taken my chances finding the other 19.
I was ticked that the President made that decision. And look how it turned out for him: 10 or so innocent lives taken, two dead terrorists, and no more canisters found. It scares me that people like this President could actually be heading up our country one day.

  7. Jeremy Jones says:

    Hey Scott, It’s BAUER.

  8. Scott Gladin says:

One more thing I’d like to point out: I’m surprised this show isn’t taking a more realistic approach to the nerve gas. These gas masks really wouldn’t help you a whole lot in real life. You don’t have to inhale it; one drop on your skin and you are done for if you don’t get immediate attention like that little girl did last night. In real life, you’d need one of those fancy, white, full-body suits.
But other than that, this is still an awesome show. I just have to tell myself to ignore that one little issue. Rock on Jack!

  9. Scott Gladin says:

Ok, ok, so I was wrong. It’s “Bauer.” If you say so anyway….

  10. Jeremy Jones says:

You are correct about the full-body suits, but that would make for more difficult Hollywood and most people believe that since it’s nerve ‘gas’, then they are safe if they have a mask. It’s nerve agent and they should fear it just as they fear Chuck.

  11. Scott Gladin says:

I fear Jack more than Chuck, but that’s beside the point.
I guess that’s one of those things Hollywood can get away with.
