The big mushroom cloud in the sky, I saw coming. Curtis taking one in the throat knocked my socks off. Poor Jack.
Is it too much to hope that if another one of those suitcase bombs HAS to go off, it does so in Sandra Palmer’s vicinity? I mean, if it’s gonna go off anyway…
Also, it was Wayne Palmer’s weakness as President that allowed the explosion to take place. If he had not negotiated with terrorists, the explosion would never have happened!
WOW WOW WOW. Sadly we say Curtis die(and yes I say this one coming, shortly before Jack called Chole to find the connection.) But that being said Bashir(Assad) will get it from Jack before the season is over. How many people have lived after getting a Presidential Pardon in this show.
Boom? Saw it coming. Bang? No, and why couldn’t Jack shoot him in the shoulder or thigh or something. Don’t think Curtis is dead.
I was getting really hacked by the wimpy-butt dad who did all the shuttle work for ACKHHHH(excuse me I have to spit)med. 12,378 eprops for his wife. And then the guy just stands there when he sees the scientist dude head for the trigger. At least try to run over and kick the suitcase out of the way. That’s what Jack would have done.
Another funny…the director of the Islam-American Relations Center doesn’t speak Arabic.
Well, it’s pretty obvious that’s a Nation of Islam group, who incidentally don’t know how to speak much more than invective.
NOW I remember where I saw Assad. Until Steve said “Bashir” I was wracking my brain. Every time I saw Ahmed I kept thinking “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.” And now I’m hungry for White Castle.
Half-expected the boom, half-expected it to not go off. I did see it coming that Curtis would either get shot or die.
I really, really, really need to hurry up and finish Season 4 and marathon Season 5 before the month is out.
Its not that he did not speak Arabic. He told his girlfriend, who, incidentally, was Will Smith’s paranoid wife in Enemy of the State, that they were speaking a specific dialect that he did not completely understand. I think the two of them are up to something, and that she has been spending too much time hanging out with her brother-in-law’s wife.
I agree on the neighbor’s dad. Call the cops! Hasn’t he ever watched 24 before? He should know they would kill him anyway.
As far as the surprises go, they weren’t that surprising for me. They built both up too much. This was the first time we had ever really seen some personal emotion out of Curtis, so you knew something was up.
I’m also not caring that much for the extreme positions being played out in Washington, namely to either give a free pass to all Muslims or lock’em all up. And Wayne Palmer as president ain’t cutting it for me so far. He’s an eggshell of his brother.
I agree with Jason - I think sister Palmer is up to something. Her getting released while the other guy was taken burned me.
If you go to the 24 website, and look at the Forum, there are some people that are complaining about the racial stereotypes, and how dangerous it is. Most of the others on the forum swoop down on them pretty quick and shut them up though.
Its hard to argue that the producers are anti-Arab. Around every corner is a greedy corporate white guy funding the terrorists for some political ideology. As a white guy, I am offended!
Looks like this site is now obsolete:

Just watch out for a guy in a red Ford van. The bad guys always drive red Ford vans. In season one, it was that way. And it is that way now. Hmmmm.
Seriously, we didn’t really see Curtis die, did we?

Bill,
I thought it was weird that he did not speak Arabic as well, ecspecially since he has a distinct accent.

Sorry, I meant to say that she was spending too much time with her late brother’s wife.
As far as the surprises go, they weren’t that surprising for me. They built both up too much. This was the first time we had ever really seen some personal emotion out of Curtis, so you knew something was up.

Have any Muslim-American orgs complained about this show yet?

Like most, I called the big boom before the season even began. But Curtis? R.I.P. Poor guy.
Now, I will indeed be surprised if any of the other four suitcase nukes goes off.
Did I see Ahmed on Law & Order SVU last night as the bad guy with Ice T shooting him? That guy is getting some serious face time.
I missed the shows when they aired and bought them on iTunes. Tonight I finished watching them - WOW! Jack is back for sure!
I love 24!
