24: Jack is back in two days

January 12th, 2007

The new season of “24″ begins Sunday. I’ve seen the first four episodes, and you can expect some surprises. I’ll leave it at that.

  1. And how, exactly, did you get to see the episodes?

Is it possible to covet the fact that someone else has already watched a television show that you desperately want to see?

  2. Tim says:

    Heh, heh, heh.

    ;)

  3. misawa says:

I’m still trying to figure out how to give you the cyber-finger…

Did you buy season five? I heard that Fox put the first four episodes of this season in with the purchase of season five, and now people are posting it all over the internet, so everyone can watch it. I’ve also heard that Fox is pretty miffed about that.

I CAN NOT WAIT TILL SUNDAY NIGHT! And MONDAY NIGHT. My biggest fear is that this ice storm getting ready to hit us will knock out our power, and we will be unable to watch.

24 became my favorite show in season four, prior to that I’d never seen it. So this week, I’ve been watching Season one, and it is great. I’m over halfway through it, and plan on spending tonight and all day tomorrow finishing it up.

  5. Mr. Ellsworth (in the best Jack Bauer voice I can muster), you still did not answer the question.

  6. misawa says:

Somebody call Sarah, tell her we need someone to shoot Tim in the leg just above the knee (so he can walk again).

    Lyle Larson, start here: http://www.timellsworth.com/?p=1461#comment-16597

Last season was our first and was devastated when Edgar was gassed. BTW, do we know if the William Devane character survived as it was alluded to last year? Also, not happy that Jean Smart lost the Emmy.

  9. jasonk says:

I believe William Devane survived the attempt on his life, and hopefully he’ll be back. I hope they explore the downfall of the president from last season, like, show him become some bad man’s boyfriend in prison. He’s got it coming, the traitor.

  10. I, too, have seen the first four episodes of season six. Oh yeah, Jack’s back. ;)

Unfortunately, I saw them with French subtitles, so you can bet I’ll be planted in front of my TV when they air for real.

T Miles, I wasn’t happy about Jean Smart losing either, or Gregory Itzin. Thought they both deserved it in a big way.

  11. Newman says:

Misawa, I found the cyber finger. Was going to post it but it could be to offensive to some.

  12. Newman says:

I started with from the beginning watching season one, two and three within a months time and quickly was burned out. I can’t wait for lost, and the Unit is really good.

  13. jwd says:

I started watching 24 last Christmas. My dad had seasons 1-4 on DVD. The day after Christmas, my wife and I watched the first 12 episodes of season 1, and we were hooked. We watched the first 4 seasons in two months, and were able to watch most of season 5 as it happened. I’m pumped!

  14. Brett says:

I’m the slowpoke here. I watched season 1…I think it was last spring. I watched season two this holiday season. I’ll watch season 3 probably sometime this spring or summer. At 2 per year I’ll be caught up to you all in about 2 years! I’d catch up sooner but I don’t know when I can get that much uninterrupted time between vacations/holidays, and I’m not disciplined enough to watch one episode per week when those jerks that write the show leave me on the edge of my seat at the end of each episode!!!! When I watch it I watch all four episodes on one dvd. There is no other way. Someday, if I ever get a full two-day timeframe alone (which is hard as a pastor with a wife and four kids!) I’m going to watch an entire season in a day and a half. It is the most addictive television experience I’ve ever encountered.

  15. Brett says:

And it’s all the fault of www.timellsworth.com! If you all hadn’t made so many Jack Bauer cracks I’d have never asked who he was!!! But now I’m ruined.

  16. Bill Nettles says:

I’ve heard rumors that Jack has a smackdown with Hulk Hogan at Ed Young, Jr.s place before going over and showing Joel Osteen what real influence is!

    “DO —YOU—UNDERSTAND?”

  17. Oh man you’re lucky, Tim. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to watch it Sunday night or not. I’m up in Atlanta for my grandfather’s birthday, and I won’t be home until Monday afternoon. So, depending on if I see it Sunday night or not, I may or may not get to see Monday night’s episodes on my brand new 50″ HDTV. Jack Bauer rocks.

  18. T Miles says:

    Brett,
You watch ‘24′ like I read John Grisham novels. About 3 behind so when I finally get to The Innocent Man, it will be out in paperback!
