Who’s your American Idol pick?
March 5th, 2008We haven’t had any discussions about American Idol thus far this season. Who do you like?
For the guys, I think my two favorites are David Archuleta and Michael Johns.
For the girls, um, I really can’t point to a favorite. None of them stand out to me.
I do know that Amanda Overmyer, Kady Malloy and Danny Noriega need to get the boot — and quickly.
Danny is this year’s Sanjaya….I’m afraid that he’s going to be around for a while.
I like the guy from Blue Springs, MO who plays the guitar left-handed. But Archuleta has got to be the prohibitive favorite.
I like the nanny girl that plays the guitar. She’s good. But I think that the guys are definitely the cream of this year’s talent.

When Ron sang “Moon River” on his mandolin it was magic.
And the purple faux-hawk really got to me as well.

For the guys, my faves are Jason Castro and David Cook. The girls… Syesha Mercado and Brooke White.
This week, I think Luke and Kady are pretty much locks to leave. I think, unfortunately, Amanda and very unfortunately, Noriega, are around for a while. My guess for the other 2 gone this week… Chikezie and Asia’h.
Should be interesting.
Brooke White has emerged as my favorite of the women. She does a great job every week. Her song last night was outstanding.
Brooke White and Karley Smithton (minus the tattoo) are my picks among the ladies. Brooke brings something different and better each week. Karley is consistently good.
Tuesday night was the first I saw of the guys. I was impressed with the two Davids - Archuleta and Cook.
I’m impressed that Brooke and Cook bring their own arrangements. It seems often an “original” take on a song turns out to be a rip off of someone else’s cover version of a familiar record. In the long run it seems sure to be Archuleta and Karley in the final. I also like the dredlock guy’s song choices.
Jason Castro has gotten better each week, imo. I like Carly (ink included) and Brooke too. The rest of the girls (other than Cruella) are all the same.
Let’s get radar to warn us when Paula approaches cogent thought.
