While I understand wanting to celebrate his demise, wouldn’t it put a bit of a damper on the celebration knowing that his regime will probably maintain itself after he goes the way of the dodo? From most of what I’ve read, Raul was the one that influenced Fidel.
Not so….Raul has always been the ruthless one. Ernesto “Che” Guevara was the intellect behind the Castro regime. Devout to pure communism, Che provided the philosphical drive to a charasmatic Fidel hungry for power and a henchman Raul along for a ride in big brother’s coup. Che’s influence is still rippling through Latin America. A great read is Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life, by John Lee Anderson. Supposedly the most authoritative bio of Che - and the only one his wife interviewed for. If there had been no Che there would have been no Fidel.

After all - Castro is an “alleged” bad guy.
The book CT recommends is indeed called the most authoritative bio on Che. I might also recommend the film “The Motorcycle Diaries”. Excellent movie.
