Mike Huckabee is under fire in some quarters for his role in the release of rapist and murderer Wayne Dumond.
Any time human life is lost it is tragic. Please hear me say that up front.
What’s the difference, though, between Huckabee’s role in paroling a convict who later committed atrocities that resulted in loss of life and Clinton have UBL in the cross-hairs (according to some, on multiple occasions) and failing to pull the trigger?
If there’s no difference (and I submit that there is no difference), and if Clinton got elected to two terms…..I’m just sayin’.
To Tony - the UBL ‘misses’ really didn’t come to national attention (or national concern) until after 9/11, by which time Clinton was out of office. Before 9/11, terrorism was still an ‘over there’ issue - even with the ‘93 WTC’s bombings.
The circumstances surrounding the release of Drumond, in particular the ‘executive session’ meetings with the parole board, are of concern. It’s already turning into a ‘he said/they said’ sort of banter with questions arising about what pressured Huck to choose Drumond in the first place.
The fact that Huck didn’t out-and-out grant him clemency and instead pushed for parole (supposedly insulating himself from future criticism regarding the case) definately raises my eyebrows a tad.
People are already suspicious of Mr. Bush’s claims of faith. Right or wrong, Huck being a Christian is only going to bring the skepticism of others to full volume.
I think there have been a lot of lies and mistruths spread about this issue. I don’t know that any of us really know what really happened. Typical election nonsense.
