South Dakota passes abortion ban
February 22nd, 2006Good news from South Dakota, as the state has become the first in the nation to pass a law banning practically all abortions, and punishing doctors who perform them.
This could set up another showdown in the Supreme Court over the constitutional legality of abortion on demand. Maybe this time the Court will get it right.
Thank the Lord! This is a huge first step.
Yes it is, Gordon. Less abortions is better than more abortions.
While legislation is a good first step, the key is in changing the hearts and minds of people. I agree that in the legal system, this heinous act should be illegal. In the moral realm, speaking truth in love, and showing love and kindness through our actions, is the key to preserving God’s precious gift of life.
(Shout out to my brothers in faith Gordon & Jeremy; for this comment I have adopted your last name.)
Bob, you are right of course. But perhaps this step is an indication that all is not being lost on the evangelistic front?
(Welcome to the family, both of you, but I am still the oldest!)
Why is it that the number of actual abortion procedures that were performed decreased under Bill Clinton’s presidency?
Thanks Don, you just convinced me that Bill Clinton had some merit. Well, maybe not. Keep trying.
Don, maybe it was because Mr. Clinton was America’s “daddy” and people felt better about having children.
Otherwise, I don’t know.
