A boy named Wrigley

September 24th, 2007

This poor kid. He’s been scarred for life.

His parents say he can go by his middle name when he’s old enough to decide.

For now, the newborn will be known by his first name: Wrigley.

And his last name: Fields.

His parents are Paul and Teri Fields of Michigan City, Ind. They are — no surprise — fans of the Cubs, who have played at Wrigley Field since 1916. The Fields planned the name for years before their son’s birth.

The parents should be charged with child abuse.

I bet he has a brother names Espn.

  2. At least this kid won’t have a hard time living up to a name that brings high expectations.

Just wait until the daughter comes along…little Strawberry. :-)

Wrigley Field is one of the cathedrals of baseball. There is no other place I’d rather watch a game. It could be even tackier still. They could have named the child US Cellular Field, AT&T Park, or Minute Maid Park. However, I think that the most unfortunate name in sports belongs to NASCAR’s, Dick Trickle.

I wonder if he would have to pay the companies every time he wrote his name because of the trademarks…

    Go, Cubbies!

Poor kid…cursed from the get go.
