Adams: Keep your laws off my doggie
August 27th, 2007Outstanding column by Mike Adams about Michael Vick, dogfighting, abortion and moral inconsistency. How indicting it is that we as a nation are outraged by the brutality of dogfighting, yet are perfectly accepting of abortion. Killing dogs is repulsive, but killing children is a matter of personal choice.
Indeed…
What gets me is that we have Kobe Bryant who admits to raping a woman yet gets off with a tearful press conference and a trip to the jewelry store. Vick gets jail time. What’s up with that?
I’ll play Devil’s advocate here…
I thought the column was poorly written pro-life propaganda. It’s just one giant “appeal to emotion fallacy.” Mike Adams may as well display a photo of a mangled aborted fetus and call it a rational argument.
how is saying “Killing babies is okay in America but killing dogs is not okay in America” appealing to an emotional fallacy?
As a believer, I can say they are both wrong
I would say that the real propaganda is that which seeks to convince us that dogs are more valuable than children.
The pro-aborts consider anything ‘propaganda’ that threatens their death industry. They will not be swayed even by the most eloquent writing available because it is not about logic or truth but ideology.
They presuppose that killing babies is good and right and anything that threatens that point of view is on its face ‘propaganda’.
If there is one point on which I can agree with the NAACP’s defense of Vick, it is a statement by one of their representatives that Vick is being treated worse than he would have been if he had killed a human being.
“They (Pro-choice advocates) presuppose that killing babies is good and right…”
Are conservatives simply ignoring their actual position and substituting a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position?

Is it possible that pro-choice advocates believe something other than “killing babies is good and right?”
Cineaste,
Just curious…
What is your position on killing deformed or handicapped newborns?
Funny that you would admit to being the devil’s advocate. Funny too that you can do it without even believing in him.
For every picture of a mangled fetus, there’s a picture of a wire hanger. Checkmate.
“What is your position on killing deformed or handicapped newborns?”
I believe killing deformed or handicapped newborns is wrong.
“Funny that you would admit to being the devil’s advocate. Funny too that you can do it without even believing in him.”
Devil’s advocate is simply a term.
Did I use the term incorrectly. Is that what you find amusing?
“For every picture of a mangled fetus, there’s a picture of a wire hanger. Checkmate.”
What does this mean and why is it “checkmate?”
There’s really no need to ‘argue’ against the rules of logic and philosophy as created by humankind.
I stake my life and faith in the God-breathed Scripture that tells me my Heavenly Father knew me as I was knit together in my mother’s womb. I place my trust in the Word of Life which teaches me that we are to be good stewards of that which God has provided.
I have no desire to win a logical, human argument - especially if it requires the playing field be moved away from scripture.
I’m just going to juxtapose a couple of comments I’ve read so far…
“They will not be swayed even by the most eloquent writing available because it is not about logic or truth but ideology.
“I have no desire to win a logical, human argument - especially if it requires the playing field be moved away from scripture.”
Wazzupp……..
What’s been going on since I last posted? Looks like I missed a lot on a couple blogs. The Myers posting made me laugh though.
“I believe killing deformed or handicapped newborns is wrong.”
Why?
I don’t want to get into the whole thing, but what I find sadly ironic are the cries and righteous indignation that come forth when a newborn is slain by her mother. And unfortunately that seems to be all too common lately.
But had the mother just done it weeks earlier at the doctors office it would have been acceptable?
