Cards’ biggest foe is curse of Hernandez
October 26th, 2006My dad sent me this column from the Post-Dispatch’s Dan O’Neill, who writes about a curse the Cardinals are battling — the Curse of Keith Hernandez.
The signs are everywhere, if you care to look. For instance, the Tigers will send Kenny Rogers to the hill for Game 2 Sunday night. Rogers wears No. 37, the same uniform number Hernandez wore in St. Louis. Rogers won 17 games this season, the number Hernandez wore in New York. Rogers also lost eight games this season; if you subtract eight from 17 you get nine, which is the number of letters in the name Hernandez and is the number of years Hernandez played in a Cardinals uniform.
It’s a great piece of writing.
Somebody has TOOOOO much time on their hands… I bet if they add 20 and mulitply by their zip-code, it would be their telephone number…
Fantastic, the more you read the funnier it gets! Thanks to you Dad for passing it along.
Did one of the leading dispensationalists do the math here? Somehow I know that Keith Hernandez is the AntiChrist, the World Series is the beast, and the tribulation will begin shortly.
