Clark refuses to hide her faith

February 15th, 2006

Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla wrote about Olympic snowboarder Kelly Clark, and her faith in Christ.

“I love Jesus,” Clark said. “It’s more joyful knowing him than all that snowboarding stuff. And so being able to snowboard for him is amazing.”

On her last run in the halfpipe, in which she finished fourth, Clark rode to the song “O Praise Him” by David Crowder.

Overall, it is a well-written piece, although I confess that I wish it had been Tim in the position for the profile of this great competitor and sister in Christ. The Post columnist did not bash her faith, and I felt it was a balanced piece.

  2. You should have had credentials Tim. This is a great story.

I’m working on stories about speedskater Derek Parra and cross-country skier Rebecca Dussault. Hopefully they’ll be done today or tomorrow.

  4. Jeff says:

I always got a smile on my face when former Braves 1B Julio Franco would stride to the plate to Twila Paris’ “God Is In Control.”

  5. This is great. It is always good to see a sincere witness from celebrities.

I always like to see an athlete who is genuine in their faith and not afraid to say it. None of those pointing toward the sky motions or “I’d like to thank God and my publicist” speeches. Just honest, open, and to the point. Thanks for the stories Tim! (Clark, Parra)
