Dear Daniel: Memories of Busch

My most recent column is a letter to my son about some of my memories of Busch Stadium. He’ll never have the memories of the place I do, but in the new stadium to open in St. Louis next year we’ll be able to start making new memories together.
I grew up going to Busch and it was a great place to see a game. Frankly, I don’t see the need for a new stadium. But, I’m sure Wrigley and Fenway will eventually be replaced as well.
I was planning on proposing to my wife after a U2 concert at Busch 13 years ago. I got pretty sick that night and it ruined the whole trip. I proposed a week later and we married the following Spring.
