Drug scandal rocks Tour de France

June 30th, 2006

From AP:

A major doping scandal threw the first Tour de France of the post-Lance Armstrong era into chaos Friday, with favorites Jan Ullrich and Ivan Basso forced out of the world’s premier cycling race under a cloud of suspicion.

Yeah, Lance Armstrong was the one who was doping.

Thanks to Chuck for the article.

  1. This is the scandal to end all scandals in cycling. Basso and Urlich are 2 of the biggest stars in the sport. The tour de France is going to be anti-climactic without them.

I hate that something like this happened, especially with the top riders in the world, but now two Americans have a good chance at stepping up and winning the thing.
I find it funny (maybe the wrong word) that they tried so hard to prove Armstrong was dirty and look and look who was really dirty.
