Doesn’t suprise me at all…. This is the second time in two months that he has been dq’d for “straddling” a gate…the other was last month in Austria.

  2. Jeremy Jones says:

Oh well, we still got gold. GO USA!!!

  3. Brett says:

Does having a unusual first name acutally help you become a winter olympian? Bode? Apolo? Tanith? Or is it just something that helps you get endorsements?

  4. Jeremy Jones says:

Last names help too. Teeter, Ono, etc.

  5. David B. says:

    My favorite one is Peekabo…

  6. Bob says:

    Picabo….Picabo Street.

She’s done a good job commenting on the games.

  7. David B. says:

Thanks, Bob…. I nevr claimed to be a good speler…:)

  8. I just loved the way Picabo called out Bode Miller last night. She rightly said that he needs to “grow up.” You won’t find many commentators saying that about a competitor.

  9. Disqualified for straddling a gate….in other words if you want to be victorious in this event, you have to be squarely on the proper side of the issues that you are forced to navigate/negotiate. There’s got to be a sermon illustration in there somewhere.

I’d never really heard of Bode Miller until he put himself in the news leading up to the games. He seems like a frat boy who was wealthy enough to ski a lot as a kid and got good at it.
