Mowing the lawn in February?
February 28th, 2007I was driving home just a few minutes ago, and noticed an elderly woman out mowing her lawn. In February. When everything’s dead and brown.
I thought that was kind of strange, until I noticed the hat she was wearing. It was a Chicago Cubs hat.
That was all the explanation I needed. Suddenly it all made perfect sense.
A Cubs fan knew how to run a lawn mower?
I had lunch with a client today who is a professional landscaper, and he said that now is a good time to chop your lawn down to about 2.5 inches in length. Maybe she has the same guy.
I guess she couldn’t wait until next year. and at least there’s one thing perfect related to the Cubs.
Oh yes, the St. Louis people are a much more sophisticated lot than us Chicagoans. You can tell by the mullets.

She was probably trying to mow “Alfonso” into her lawn.
Let’s not forget. Cubs vs. Sox this Sunday!
Not so fast. The dogwoods are already getting pink around here, so Mother Nature’s on the way ahead of schedule!
