Outcry over London Olympics logo
June 6th, 2007
The newly-unveiled logo for the 2012 Olympic Games in London has unleashed a flurry of international protests — and for good reason. Just look at the monstrosity.

I don’t see anything overtly Christian about it.
That’s usually what upsets people so.
It’s amazing how little half a million bucks will buy you these days. This thing looks like it was drawn by a five year old. And why the heck is it pink?
Wow, just give me $100 and I could do better than that.
I didn’t even know it was 2012. I thought it was LON for London.
This is proof I need a heavily fortified bunker.
And in unrelated news, the creator of the 1994 Olympic… thing, Izzy, has now been released from suicide watch. He was heard exclaiming, “Somebody’s dumber than me!”
On top of it all, the 2012 Olympic website has been causing Epilepsy seizures. The animation footage in quesiton has since been removed.

You know… I make logos and designs to maintain my way of life… I do not charge anywhere near what this guy was paid and I believe I can say without tooting my own horn, I can do better.
j razz
ooo.. j razz is a designer eh? Hmmm. Never know when that’ll come in handy!
it looks like broken glass
Klay,
There are a lot of things you don’t know about me…
j razz
Pretty ugly.
I believe the Olympic T-shirt I designed for my Arts & Crap class back in college was far superior to this. (Wonder if I still have that shirt lying around somewhere?)
How odd about the video triggering epileptic seizures.
misawa,
I thought Izzy was the ‘96 Atlanta mascot…
Which I hate, because I love Atlanta to death, but oh well. The two bad things of that Olympics: the bombing and Izzy.
Arts & Crap… is that the class where you glue popsicle sticks together to make things that you are told to give to your mother? Wait, that is VBS. I can’t say I ever had an arts and crap class while in college.
j razz
Yeah, Scott, it was ‘96. File it under brain fart and too lazy to Google.
The 3rd bad thing was the media’s railroading of Richard Jewell. Although he did receive $500,000 from NBC for that.
No popsicle sticks, j razz, but I do remember also making a pretty bizarre mobile and a very cool sculpture out of wood blocks! (I think the course counted as a humanities credit, who knows?)
LOL - That’s putrid!
Kinda scary how it looks almost homosexual!
It’s really the London Tube map with no smooth curves.
