Schilling’s bloody sock a hoax?
April 26th, 2007Speaking of Curt Schilling, last night Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Gary Thorne said on the air that Schilling painted the sock red as a PR stunt.
UPDATE: Thorne has now backed off his original statements and said the whole thing was a misunderstanding.
Interesting…
You’ve gotta admit that he pitched ridiculously well to have a potentially career-ending injury.
I’ll take my pattern comment from Andrew
Previous commenters: Who cares what color, or how ink-stained or blood-soaked, Schilling’s sock is? If you can’t deal with someone’s PR choice and it offends you, don’t watch their game. Who cares what you think? I like good pitching by ink-stained, blood-stained, tobacco-stained or unstained pitchers. I don’t know this person and I’m not gonna waste time in my day even thinking about something that doesn’t affect me. Maybe you should, too.
Maybe Prior should pitch with a blood-stained jersey.
Maybe Prior should just try to pitch, period.
He did once.
Update posted. Thorne is now retracting his statement.
