Super Bowl moratorium over; predictions here
January 30th, 2006Now that we’re into the week in which the Super Bowl will be played, I’m happy to start talking about it (and I still say that it’s crazy to take two weeks between the conference championships and the Super Bowl).
Seattle vs. Pittsburgh. Make your predictions. I’ll say Pittsburgh 24-17.
You have two teams here that seem to have the same strengths. It’s going to come down to execution. I believe a partisan crowd and Hines Ward will be the difference. Pittsburgh 27-21.
Seahawks 31-21
Steelers 28-21 over the Seahawks.
Jerome Bettis has at least one TD run.
Yeah two weeks is a lot but I think it may help both teams be at full strength, which is what you want. The amount of pregame coverage and overanalysis (before and after) is extreme though.
Seattle 27-23
Pittsburgh 27-17
Super Bowl MVP: Big Ben
I think Bettis’ quest to return to Detroit will not be one he will want to remember…
Seattle 41, Pittsburgh 28.
Steelers 21-10
Seabirds 28- Pitt 21
I really appreciate Tim waiting until this week to make a Super Bole (I spelled it wrong so I won’t infringe on any copyrights) prediction and/or allowing us to.
All that said, I’ll take the Chiefs and the points.
Actually, I’d like to revise my prediction.
Atlanta 35-0
I’m pulling for the Steelers. And to go back to the earlier question, why a week off, here is a possibility- Southern Baptist churches needed one weekend without football in order to have January Bible Study! Some sort of collaborative effort so as not to lose the support of SBC Super Bowl parties!
What’s that supposed to mean???
When do the Raiders play? Hey Tim, do you think your Dad will cancel Church Sunday night for the game? Should I axe him?
I am saying Steelers. I think they will be leading at halftime, but I think it will tighten up in the 3rd.
Holy cow — Scott would have nailed it perfectly. Too bad you revised your pick, big man. Wish we could give you credit.
