Tavarez suspended 10 games
March 31st, 2006Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Julian Tavarez, now with the Red Sox, was suspended for 10 days for his role in a brawl with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Jeff Rushing has posted a series of photos that shows Tavarez’s offense in all its lurid detail.
Oh, and Tavarez hits like a girl, as the 26th man has pointed out.
Tavarez probably cannot make a normal fist anymore since he punched a wall during the ‘04 playoffs.
That said, yeah, it does look like he hits like a girl.
Man, I am so glad that this guy is not a Cardinal anymore. He is always trouble and was never even a great reliever. I honestly think I prefer Poson and his issues to Tavarez.
I think he should have gotten more than 10 games though. He punched a player in the face unprovoked!!! That should be like 30 games.

He’s lucky Gathright didn’t get up in time to react to the unprovoked punches. Apparently Joey is a black belt.
