Williams suspended one year

After testing positive for drugs for the fourth time, Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams will sit out for the next year after the NFL failed to uphold his appeal on the one-year suspension.
Talk about wasted talent and a wasted life. How sad.
I think he knew what he was doing all along. He knew that if he did not come back he would have to repay some of his contract earnings. So he came back, played, did some dope and gets suspended. He doesn’t have to play at all next year and can go back to the life he wants with a wad of $$$ in his account.
And some team will take him back in ‘07 if the Dolphins don’t.
How does someone who uses illegal drugs four times not do some jail time or get fined? A year’s suspension is a slap on the wrist.
Note to self: Do not draft Ricky in the fantasy league this year…

Not surprising. Isn’t it wonderful that even the pot-heads have a role model in the NFL?
Geez… though I have to say, I kinda saw this coming.
From what I saw and read, Ricky didn’t get popped for pot - it was something else - which is why he appealled. In the past he’s made quite clear his drug of choice is marijuana. So, this positive result for something else was a big surprise to him (not so much the to the rest of the world however!!!).
